How do I add files to Batchio?
Drag and drop files or folders onto the Batchio window. You can also click the Add Files or Add Folder buttons to use the macOS file picker. Enable the Include Subfolders toggle to scan nested directories automatically.
How do I build a rename rule chain?
Click the + button to add a rule. Choose the rule type you need (find and replace, add text, numbering, change case, remove characters, date insertion, extension handling, EXIF metadata, or audio metadata). Configure the rule options. Stack multiple rules to build a chain. The live preview shows the cumulative result of all rules in real time.
How do I use regex in find and replace?
Toggle regex mode in the Find and Replace rule panel. Enter your regular expression pattern in the Find field. Use $1, $2, and so on in the Replace field to reference capture groups. The live preview highlights matches before you commit, so you can verify the pattern works correctly.
How do I undo a rename operation?
Press Cmd+Z immediately after renaming to undo the last operation. Batchio stores up to 100 rename operations in its Rename History panel. Open the panel to browse and undo any previous operation individually.
How do I save and reuse presets? (Pro)
Save your current rule chain as a named preset using the Presets dropdown. Click Save Current Rules, enter a name, and confirm. Apply any saved preset from the same dropdown with one click. Batchio also includes built in sample presets for common workflows like photo organizing and music file cleanup.
How do I set up folder automation? (Pro)
Open Preferences and navigate to the Automation tab. Click Add Watch Folder and select a folder to monitor. Choose a saved preset to apply when new files appear. Batchio watches the folder in the background and renames new files automatically. An activity log tracks every automated rename operation.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open Batchio on your Mac, go to Settings, and click Restore Purchases. StoreKit verifies your Apple ID and unlocks Pro features automatically. Both Macs must use the same Apple ID for the restore to succeed.
What are the system requirements?
Batchio requires macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later. The app runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. No additional dependencies or runtimes are required.
How do I contact support?
Email contact@batchio.dev with a description of your issue. Include your macOS version, Batchio version (shown in the About window), and screenshots if applicable.
